Once again, UPF will be organizing activities around the world in support of the United Nation's annual International Day of Peace (IDP). UPF-USA has actively participated each year and has organized an amazing array of activities across our nation.
The International Day of Peace is on September 21 of each year, so it is coming soon. Please make plans for celebrating this day with a program or activity in your community, or place of worship. From small and simple to grandiose, please plan something to raise awareness on this day. You can visit the new International Day of Peace website for background information and ideas for activities.

As UPF-USA has done in 2007 and 2008, we will organize IDP activities under the core theme of “One Family under God.” Through this Ambassadors for Peace can add unique meaning to these activities, conveying in a simple way that peace ultimately requires connectedness to the eternal Creator God. By holding IDP events across America, we can make a valuable contribution toward positive US-UN cooperation. |
| As you know it is UPF’s unique perspective that the inclusion of a faith perspective and the unity of the US and UN that are vital to solving conflicts and building a world of lasting peace.
As a reminder, your IDP events and activities do not have to be planned only for September 21, but can be scheduled within reasonable proximity of that date. You can find ideas for projects and activities at http://internationaldayofpeace.org/your_peace_day.html. Also we will again be collecting reports and digital photos for the global report of Ambassadors for Peace (take a look at report highlights for IDP 2008 in USA here.)
