Faith-based Diplomacy: Bridging the Divide

FlyerDr. Douglas Johnston, noted author and peacemaker, spoke on “Faith-based Diplomacy: Bridging the Religious Divide” at an official Pre-Parliament of the World’s Religions Event hosted by UTS, the Interfaith Seminary, on May 23.

Dr. Johnston is the author of several books on peace, including Religion: The Missing Dimension of Statecraft (1995) and Faith Based Diplomacy (2003). His most recent book, which he co-authored, is Madrasa Enhancement and Global Security: A Model for Faith-Based Engagement (2008), an account of Johnston’s groundbreaking work to help broaden the curriculum and the educational strengths of madrasas – Islamic schools – in the Muslim world. Dr. Johnston has appeared at several of the UPF’s International Leadership Conferences.
